Celebrating 4 Years of Recycling Aluminum Cans

Thank you for 4 consecutive years of growing numbers in collecting, counting and recycling your Aluminum Cans with the 1 Million Cans Man. It all began on December 1, 2018 when my wife and I started collecting the cans. We collect 780 cans our first

month.

It was in March 2019 when we reached our first 5,000 cans and (thank you Lisa H.) for those 8 cans you've donated to bring us to this milestone.

By April 2020 we magnified this number and grew to over 50,000 cans. When COVID had struck and Washington State Govenor issued a "Stay at home order" - 1 Million Cans Man was expecting a decline in the recycling of aluminum cans. But that was not the case. More people being home, meant more people were drinking more out of aluminum cans. The proof was in the numbers, because we reached over 100,000 by the end of 2020!

On April 7, 2021 - Karen L. had pushed us over the 125,000 mark with their donation of 185 cans. And we all know what happens when the sun comes out right!? ... People drink more to quench their thirst. Which means, more empty aluminum cans to count. The pace was really picking up in July 2021. We went from 150,000 in July to close out the year at over 205,000 cans. We collected over 111K cans for the whole year in 2021.

2022 was going to be an amazing year. We raised the bar and started the year out with 166 donors. The goal was to meet or exceed the amount of cans we collected in the previous year. We now have 73 more donors that we did last year and already we've collected 161,509 cans this year alone. Stay tune to see the results at the end of 2022.

Thank you for a Fantastic 4 years and looking forward to

reaching our 1 Million Cans in 2023.

The year is not over, we are just not getting started! Together let's finished this year out with a bang. I have no doubt this is the month we will reach 400,000. Got Cans?
